【摘要】:Mixedoxide,amixtureofuraniumandplutoniumoxides,isusedasanuclear-reactorfuelintheformofpellets.Theplutoniumcontentmaybeupto10weight%,andthediluenturaniummaybeofany235Uenrichment.Inordertobesuitableforuseasanuclearfuel,thematerialmustmeetcertaincriteriaforcombineduraniumandplutoniumcontent,effectivefissilecontent,andimpuritycontentasdescribedinSpecificationC833.3.1.1Thematerialisassayedforuraniumandplutoniumtodeterminewhethertheplutoniumcontentisasspecifiedbythepurchaser,andwhetherthematerialcontainstheminimumcombineduraniumandplutoniumcontentsspecifiedonadryweightbasis.3.1.2Determinationoftheisotopiccontentoftheplutoniumanduraniuminthemixedoxideismadetoestablishwhethertheeffectivefissilecontentisincompliancewiththepurchaser’specifications.3.1.3Impuritycontentisdeterminedtoensurethatthemaximumconcentrationlimitofcertainimpurityelementsisnotexceeded.Determinationofimpuritiesisalsorequiredforcalculationoftheequivalentboroncontent(EBC).1.1Thesetestmethodscoverproceduresforthechemical,massspectrometric,andspectrochemicalanalysisofnuclear-grademixedoxides,(U,Pu)O2,powdersandpelletstodeterminecompliancewithspecifications.1.2Theanalyticalproceduresappearinthefollowingorder:Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.(Forspecificsafeguardandsafetyprecautionstatements,seeSections11,20,64,and112and102.6.1.)
