【摘要】:ThispracticeappliestoandestablishesamethodtomeasuretheimagingperformanceofX-raysystemsusedforthescreeningforprohibiteditemssuchasweapons,explosivesandexplosivedevicesinbaggage,packages,cargoormail.ThispracticeisintendedforusebymanufacturerstoassessperformanceandbyevaluatorsofsecurityandcontrabandscreeningX-raysystemstoverifyperformance.ThispracticeisintendedtoestablishwhetheranX-raysystemmeetsthemanufacturer''sspecificationorifthesystem''sperformancehasdeterioratedovertime.Thispracticemaybeusedformanufacturingcontrol,specificationacceptance,serviceevaluationorregulatorystatutes.Thispracticeisintendedforuseatboththepointofmanufactureandwherethesystemisoperated.Thelatterincludeslocationssuchassecuritycheckpointsoftransportationterminals,nuclearpowerstations,correctionalinstitutions,corporatemailrooms,governmentofficesandothersecurityareas.ThemostsignificantattributesofthispracticearethedesignofastandardTestObjectandstandardmethodsfordeterminingtheperformancelevelsofthesystem.InscreeningobjectswithX-raysystemsvideoimagesaretheprimaryinputsprovidedtooperators.Thebetterthequalityoftheseimages,thebetterthepotentialperformanceoftheoperator.1.1ThispracticeappliestoallX-raybasedscreeningsystems,withtunnelaperturesupto1mwidex00D7;1mhigh,whetheritisaconventionalX-raysystemoranexplosivesdetectionsystem(EDS)thatprovidesaprojectionorprojection/scatterimageforanoperatortointerpret.1.2ThispracticeappliestoX-raysystemsusedforthescreeningforprohibiteditemssuchasweapons,explosives,andexplosivedevicesinbaggage,packages,cargo,ormail.1.3Thispracticeestablishesquantitativeandqualitativemethodsforevaluatingthesystems.Thispracticedoesnotestablishminimumperformancerequirementsforanyparticularapplication.1.4Thispracticereliesupontheuseofastandardtestobject(ASTMX-rayTestObject)todeterminetheapplicableperformancelevelsofthesystems.Thespecifictestobjectissubsequentlydescribedandreferredtointhisdocumentasthex201C;TestObject.x201D;1.5ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
